Mississippi Gubernatorial Election 2019 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes b) Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
c) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
I am generally not for abortion at any time, but I do respect a women right to choose. I feel that it is the right of that family to have/make the decision after becoming pregnant. If a choice is made to abort a fetus, it should not be so after 22 to 24 weeks, unless it is unsafe for the mother. However I will not set the number of weeks ban on abortions until after much research and input from all sides.

I will reach out to our federal government in finding additional funds which can be allocated toward balancing/increasing Mississippi budget. After a detail inspection/analysis of our state's budget, I will stress fiscal transparency and accountability to reduce wasteful, unwise, or excessive spending to best utilize state funds. Yes e) Do you support the legalization of industrial hemp farming?
Although cannabis as a drug and industrial hemp both derive from the species Cannabis sativa contain the psychoactive component tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), they're distinct strains with unique phytochemical compositions and uses. Hemp has lower concentrations of THC and higher concentrations of cannabidiol (CBD), which decreases or eliminates its psychoactive effects. I support the farming of the lower (THC) strains. I support regulations on the concentration of THC and permit only hemp that's bred with an especially low THC content which canbe refined into a variety of commercial items including paper, textiles, clothing, biodegradable plastics, paint, insulation, biofuel, food, and animal feed.

As an Advocate of Education, I am committed to investing in addressing the needs of every child from cradle to career, starting with high-quality, affordable childcare and pre-kindergarten programs and fully-funded public schools, and on to post-secondary opportunities that will lead to a lifetime of success.

I do not support any legislation that promotes discrimination, division, hate, ill-will, or bias based on race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, social-economic status, partisanship, or any other exceptionalities. Mississippi's anti-discrimination laws must be update.
I seek to bring a 21st century economy to Mississippi, improve education from the cradle to college more accessible and affordable. I will work to better our health care system and improve Mississippi?s infrastructure. All while fighting to overturn divisive legislation. And move our state past race, gender, socioeconomic status, partisanship, and embrace this historical shift. You and Me, we can improve the future of Mississippi.
I will use my over 25 years of community and business experience to bridge relationships, promote economic development, improve education and reduce poverty in Mississippi.
